Overview

Unify captures replies to sequence emails and classifies their content so you can find people who want to meet, need more information, or have an objection. Use the reply view to review these responses and continue the conversation with the context of the person’s outreach.

Review replies

Open a sequence and select Replies. The table shows each person’s reply classifications, enrollment date, sequence step, and version. Use the tag filters to include the responses you want to review or exclude a category. For example, filter for people willing to meet when planning your follow-up. Open a person’s row to review their enrollment and messages in the engagement panel. Read the full response before choosing your next action; a reply can have several classification tags. To respond from Unify, use the reply arrow beneath the message. Review the sending mailbox and recipients, write your response, and send it when ready. You can also continue the conversation in your connected email inbox. Configure notification preferences to receive alerts for the reply classifications you want to act on.

How replies affect outreach

A reply can end an active enrollment according to the sequence’s ending conditions. The enrollment then shows the replied outcome, and remaining steps stop. Replies received after an enrollment finishes can still be attributed to that enrollment for reporting.

Out-of-thread replies

Unify also recognizes emails from an enrolled person outside the original sequence thread. For example, a person might start a new conversation with your sending mailbox instead of replying directly to the outreach email. These responses can be attributed to active enrollments and to recently finished enrollments within the 30-day attribution window. They count toward the sequence’s reply results and can end active outreach under its ending conditions.

Out-of-office responses

An automated out-of-office response puts outreach on hold until the person’s return. Unify uses the return date identified in the message, with a buffer before resuming. If it cannot identify a return date, the default hold is 14 days from the response. Subsequent emails still follow the send schedule. The person’s engagement timeline shows the out-of-office event and expected resume time. These automated responses are handled separately from ordinary replies that end an enrollment.

Reply classifications

Tags describe the response’s tone, intent, or delivery status. Multiple tags can apply to one message. The results view groups these tags into broader categories for reporting. Review the message and its individual tags when deciding how to follow up.
